His deepest need, however, is to live as a part of the family: going where they go, doing what they do. It is amazing how they will go with you all day long seeming to have endless energy; but, when you come in the house and sit down to relax, they are right up on the couch with you curled up, content to be perfectly still. Sleeping on your bed, or in his own-beside his owner is a great joy to the miniature schnauzer.
Shedding : You may have heard this about the miniature schnauzers and wondered if this is true. Miniature Schnauzers DO NOT shed. It is a fantastic attribute to the breed. This means no messy hair in the bathtub after bath time, no favorite chair that they sleep in, covered with a blanket to keep the chair from becoming covered in hair, and no hair to vacume up before company comes over. They are perfect for people who are allergic to other breeds of dogs. However they do need to be groomed every six to eight weeks to maintain their handsome appearance.
